It was built by the Viceroy Francisco de Toledo in 1572, had to be restored after the earthquake of 1650. Its plan is a Latin cross, has three naves and a tall tower square. This construction of stone masonry had trouble closing their arches and vaults, which by then were closed, leaving half built one of the bell towers until today.
