Floating Islands Amantaní

Amantaní Island, belonging to the district of the same name in the region of Puno, Peru, is located east of the peninsula Capachica north of the island of Taquile on Lake Titicaca. It is roughly circular in shape with an average diameter of 3.4 km. It reaches an area of 9.28 square kilometers, the largest island of the Peruvian side of the lake. Its maximum height at the top of Mount Llacastiti is 4150 m asl, ie 320 m above the lake (3810 m).
